I found the below phrasing fascinating (& insightful), even among all other attempts by this blog to sanitize Narendra Modi and his government’s savage misdeeds:

What is being referred to above of course is that an eight month pregnant woman was burnt alive by a murderous mob that was given a free run, if not overtly supported by Narendra Modi’s government and police.
But the language used will have you think that what is important is not that an eight month pregnant woman and her unborn son was burnt alive in public for being born into the wrong group / religion, but that the fact that she was not raped and that her womb was not ripped open before she was killed somehow minimizes the grusesomeness of the situation!
Yes, I am aware of the context to this but just wanted to point out how these things slip through when one makes a fulltime job of sanitizing the most degrading crimes against humanity.
Btw, the linked Express story takes the prize for idiocy by referring to a dead fetus as “in healthy condition, weighing 2.5 kg.”
